Key takeaways:
- You and your intended will be wowed by the three-dimensional endless illumination of infinity lights.
- Manufacturing and packing and shipping quality makes a difference in the effect achieved, and the impact of a delivered gift.
- Online inventory is low—don’t dawdle with what you put in your shopping cart.
For almost a year now we have been on the hunt, online and in real life, for LED infinity lights. We’ve been obsessed because of what we believe is their infinite potential as a gift:
- They’re new-ish.
- They are visually stunning. This cannot be emphasized enough.
- They’re affordable
- Many are holiday-related, some are not.
- They are in scarce supply—which just heightens the appeal for gift givers. (We want to be the ones who find what no one else can.)
Just look at this reindeer! Who wouldn’t want to give, and who wouldn’t want to receive this cutie pie?
Freestanding lights mounted on a base or stand, these are called infinity lights because of the way LED lights bounce between their two parallel mirrors when the lights are turned on. Each reflection is slightly fainter than the last, which makes the lights appear to recede endlessly.
It’s magical, three-dimensional endless illumination, and it is fabulous. Infinity lights are unlike anything else your intended is decorating with this year.
November 24, 2025 update: Great news: More holiday-theme LED infinity lights now are available and the price of some have been reduced! If you’ve been admiring from afar, this might be a good time to get your infinity on.
We stand by everything we wrote when we first published this post in October, and encourage you to read when you have time.
But since it’s November 24, we’ll get straight to it and provide this listing organized by lights that are over 25 inches and those that are under 25 inches. Because quality can be an issue with these, our curation includes only the better reviewed lights.

Challenge #1: Can be hard to find online
This gift idea comes with a few challenges—the first of which is its name.
If you’re not aware of the intended effect, “infinity lights”—or “infinity mirror lights”as they’re sometimes called—is not intuitive. You could see this special snowman in the wild and not necessarily know what you were looking at or how to find more.
The concept originated in commercial, architectural and industrial applications that predate the appearance of infinity lights in holiday décor. A search for “infinity lights”today will be a mixed bag, producing results for lights meant for consumers as well as for commercial use.
Even on Amazon, infinity lights can be found in multiple categories, including Home & Kitchen, Garden & Outdoor, Tools & Home Improvement, even Collectible Figurines.
Also relevant: Some makers call their products something else.
Challenge #2: Can be hard to see in person
Another challenge is that you may not have a lot of opportunity to see infinity lights in person. Or, you might miss them where they are. When they’re displayed they tend to be set off, often out of reach. They’re not fragile per se, but they are two layers of mirror/acrylics with electronics sandwiched between them. Retailers need to be keep them out of harm’s way.
Challenge #3: Can be hard to evaluate based on photographs
Photographs and videos do not do these lights justice.
All the light bouncing between the mirrors can confuse a camera sensor. The intense brightness of the LED lights can blow out the exposure settings and cause colors to look different. The pulsing of the LED lights can also do a number on video, producing flickering and black lines.
Sellers either use high-end photographic techniques to correct the lighting or perspective. Or they just retouch the photos—which can result in a false version of the depth and clarity of the products. This is true of some of the images being shown on social media so proceed with caution.
Given the challenges and market conditions, we want to offer the benefit of our research, including helping you make an informed buying decision.
Hold out for quality—and when you find it, pounce!
If you’re in the market for an infinity light gift, whether for a holiday nor not, just know that you’ll be competing for a product whose stock is likely running low.
Has consumer demand been underestimated? Are manufacturers holding back on inventory now to meet demand when the holiday season is in full swing? Hmm.
We have two suggestions for you.
1. Prepare by doing your homework about your options, starting with understanding quality differences.
Here’s a quick guide to the range between the highest quality and budget or novelty tier:
- The highest quality pieces offer deep, near-perfect clarity that produces the wow response, which is reliant on what’s called an “endless tunnel.”Look into the lights and you can see forever—aka infinity. The tunnel in lower quality/lower priced lights may look shallow (three or four reflections only), and the reflections may blur or ghost. Manufacturers of budget lights also use thinner acrylic or plastic and cheaper reflective film.
- The build and frame of the highest quality piece will be robust, shatter-resistant and even suitable for covered outdoor use. Look for use of the word “sturdy”in product reviews. By contrast, a lower quality piece will be lightweight, flimsy and for indoor-use only. If the seam or edge where the mirrors meet is visible, that will break the illusion.
- The lights on a higher quality piece will be bright and vibrant—so much so that reviewers will comment about the brightness—because the lights are packed so densely packed. This is what creates the continuous light tunnel. High-quality infinity lights use dense, bright LED strips that appear as a seamless line of light. Cheaper lights often use low-density LEDs that will look like individual dots instead of a smooth line.
- “UL Plug Powered”on a product means that the entire system—including the frame, wiring, LED strips and the power supply adapter—has passed an Underwriters Laboratories certification test. Lower quality electrical products may either be powered by battery or non-UL listed. Even though cordless is more convenient, when they come with both use the USB cord for the best effect.
- Note the words used in the descriptions. For higher quality, you want an “infinity mirror.”It should be so clear that the mirror could almost be used when the light is turned off. When the lights on a “3D tunnel light”are off, the front mirror may be hazy or even dark. It may not work as a clear mirror.
- Where you’re constrained on the upper end but still want to give a higher quality gift, choose a smaller (no more than 15 inches) light. Distortion and ghosting issues become more pronounced as the size increases. Even then, prioritize those with “high-density LED strips”that reduce the potential for dots.
- If you’re buying online, you do need to think about breakage. Here, too, the higher quality makers will distinguish themselves with how they package their products. Sellers of the lower priced products are prone to cutting corners in the packaging, leading to the potential that your gift arrives in a box containing acrylic that’s crushed or dented.
- As the authentic infinity lights become popular, expect to see lots of lower price, lower quality wanna-bes.
2. Be prepared to accept a fair price, especially on the higher quality pieces.
Expect to see a variance in prices on the very same piece. As of this writing, I see the same product selling on Amazon for $59 from one seller and $86 from another.
Given the conditions, we’d advise you to prioritize certainty over the conditions. If you find a cheaper priced product that will ship within two days, go for it. If you need to wait longer, that would give us pause.
This is the risk for you to weigh: Would you rather jump now and secure the gift or would you rather wait to see if more products are plentiful at a later date, possibly for a lower price?
Enjoy, you’ll see we’re not exaggerating about these!
